About the educational trip to Berlin on the children and youth participation for multipliers from Ukraine, Georgia and Russia

NYCU team of Julian Kritsak Kristina Voronovska and Viktor Kovalenko studied best practices of participation in Berlin with participants from Ukraine, Georgia and Russia 

Within 5 days, everyone had the opportunity to meet representatives of organizations working in the field of youth participation and actively implement initiatives to involve children and young people in decision-making processes 

During the educational trip were:

  • tested playgrounds at three Berlin schools, which the organization “Grün macht Schule” had helped to transform space using the playground model in collaboration with the schools and with the help of the students. 
  • discussed the work features of the Child and Youth Friendly Community
  • found ideas and tools of increasing the children and youth participation through the experience gained from Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk, Wannseeforum and Servicestelle Jugendbeteiligung – organizations that already had had success stories and projects aimed at increasing the level of partisanship
  • visited 2 Christmas fairs, 1 Ferris wheel; eaten 4 traditional “German bratwurst” and 1 traditional “Berliner doughnut”

Educational trip to Berlin on the children and youth participation for multipliers from Ukraine, Georgia and Russia took place within the project framework “We can do more! For active participation of young people in Eastern Europe” which is implemented by the National Youth Council of Ukraine in cooperation with DRA (Deutsch-Russischer Austausch eV) with the financial support of the Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt)

◾️ ideas and mechanisms found to increase participation rates of children and young people through lessons learned from Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk, Wannseeforum and Servicestelle Jugendbeteiligung – organizations that already have success stories and projects aimed at increasing participation rates

2 2 Christmas fairs, 1 Ferris wheel, 4 traditional German bratwurst sausages and 1 traditional Berliner donuts visited

Educational trip to Berlin on the participation of children and youth for multipliers from Ukraine, Georgia and Russia took place within the framework of the project “We can do more! For active participation of young people in Eastern Europe” is realized by the National Youth Council of Ukraine in cooperation with DRA (Deutsch-Russischer Austausch eV) with the financial support of the German Foreign Ministry (Auswärtiges Amt)
