Autumn Youth Policy Academy: studying, intense development, atmosphere of Carpathians mountains, NGOs cooperation

To remember the taste of autumn days is to find new keys to knowledge and opportunities. Feel the spirit of learning and the open world of the Autumn Academy of Youth Policy, where every day is a new page in the world of unforgettable experiences and limitless opportunities.

Autumn academy - unique educational opportunity which lasts from 18 to 20 of November in the village of Tatariv (Ivano-Frankivsk region). During this event young personalities from different parts of the country gathered to deepen knowledge and exchange experiences, and unite for the development of NGOs and Ukraine. The Academy became a place where each participant felt part of a large community, where every day opened up new insights.

Meetings with leading experts, interactive workshops and discussions allowed to learn more about current topics about youth policy shaping. This event has become an important platform for the exchange of ideas, the study of new methods and the development of youth potential and a platform for cooperation.

The main goal of the Academy was to create an encouraging environment for the participants, where they could learn new knowledge and skills, gain valuable experience and find potential for further development. The Academy became a platform for the exchange of ideas and opinions, contributing to the expansion of horizons and the creation of a network of mutual support among public youth organizations and young active people. The participants had the opportunity not only to enrich their knowledge, but also to discover new opportunities for personal and professional growth of their regions.

Participants had the opportunity to deepen and develop their knowledge in such topics as youth policy, capacity of youth organizations and gained skills in advocacy, project management and financing.

Topics of lectures:

  • "Overcoming the crisis of human resources and effective search for volunteers."
  • "Motivation and retention of volunteers."
  • "Basics of fundraising: directions and tools."
  • "Designing the fundraising canvas of the project."
  • "Fundraising Tools: An Analysis of the Advantages and Disadvantages of Application."
  • "Tracking and evaluation of work results."
  • "Risk management in projects."
  • "How to correctly report financial expenses and taxes?"

The atmosphere of the educational program was complemented by amazing views of the Carpathians and the first snow, which created a unique aura of classes. This natural beauty was reflected in an atmosphere conducive to learning and creative inspiration, giving the participants new perspectives for studying the material and developing their own ideas. The Carpathians, full of natural grandeur and tranquility, became an excellent context for the deployment of educational efforts and in-depth development of each participant(s).

The Academy was implemented by the National Youth Council of Ukraine within the framework of the "Level up of youth NGOs for the democratic future of Ukraine" project, which is implemented by the National Youth Council of Germany (DBJR) in partnership with NYCU with the support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Thanks to their support, we develop communities and strengthen the voice of young people.

Our participants gained incredible knowledge, inspiration and practical skills. After finishing the Academy, the participants actively use the acquired competencies in the development of their organizations, communities and regions. We conducted a short interview with the participants, they already have significant success after 2 months, how did the training end? What participants say:

"After the Autumn Academy of Youth Policy, we are making significant changes based on the material we have learned. Using the acquired skills, I personally create effective and cohesive groups in our organization. This includes team building sessions, systematic meetings to discuss project progress, and establishing a clear hierarchy and responsibilities within the team.”

“In addition, we develop specific long-term and short-term goals for the organization, using strategic planning to set priorities, allocate resources and track progress. We are actively working on programs to support and reward volunteer(s), including recognition systems, training opportunities and organizing social events for them.”

The autumn academy left an indescribable mark on the hearts of all participants, providing not only knowledge, but also tools and support for further development.
