On March 2, active work began to launch the All-Ukrainian project “Child and Youth Friendly City”, implemented by UNICEF Ukraine, National Youth Council of Ukraine, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Regional Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Association of Ukrainian Cities, the Association of United Territorial Communities.
\nThis working meeting was held in partnership with DRA with support of the Ministry of international affairs of Germany.<\/p>\n

The All-Ukrainian project “Child and Youth Friendly City” is worked out specifically to take the path of analysis of the state of development of children’s and youth policies in the municipality, to develop an action plan and its implementation with participation of children and young people, in order to develop policies, which would be friendly to children and youth. We will be able to teach and expand the capabilities of youth leaders, organizations, spaces, to moderate, analyze the situation and needs of young people together, ensuring a high level of participation of young people and children in decision-making processes at the local level.<\/p>\n

Youth leaders from different regions of Ukraine had the opportunity to hear the presentation of the planned project “Child and Youth Friendly City” by UNICEF Ukraine in Ukraine, Artur Ayvazov, who told in structured way about the steps of implementation of the project in Ukraine and the purpose of the project’s implementation, mentioning three main stakeholders: municipality, NGOs, local business. The development of city for the recognition as “City Friendly to Children and Youth” will depend on the interaction of these 3 main components.<\/p>\n

The German Embassy in Kyiv, represented by Mr. Daniel Lissner, expressed support for the implementation of this project in Ukraine, as well as the development of closer cooperation between the youth of Germany and Ukraine, the exchange of best practices and the development of youth projects between the two countries.<\/p>\n

There was also a presentation of U-Report Ukraine \u2013 partners of NYCUkraine, where Yevheniia Nesterenko told the participants about the achievements of U- Report andand activities planned in the nearrest future according to the latest polls. Thus, in particular, three most effective forms of youth participation in the community activity are youth projects (48%); creation of youth organizations (39.8%); participation in the development of community development strategies (31,%), and the possibility of joining the positive changes in society motivate youth to be engaged in volunteering the best.
\nOne of the next polls will be concerning “Child and Youth Friendly City”
\nAndriy Kolobov told about the activities and structure of the National Youth Council of Ukraine and the role of NYCUkraine in developing and implementing the youth component of the project “Child and Youth Friendly City”<\/p>\n

Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about the National Youth Council, to communicate with the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Children’s Rights, Mykola Kuleba, who shared his experience in the field of children’s rights and expressed his support for the implementation of this project and the development of children’s rights’ topic in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Participants from different regions of Ukraine shared their experience in implementing projects, and also began a lively discussion concerning 5 areas on which the Action Plan will be based, namely: The Right to Childhood, the Right to Safety, the Right to Respect and the Equitable (Equal) attitude, Right to be heard, Right to health, education and social protection.<\/p>\n
