<\/a>Representative of\u00a0National Youth Council of Ukraine (NYCUkraine)\u00a0Natalia Shevchuk\u00a0has joined to the development process of general recommendations for the implementation of “Youth Capital” contest on the national level in other countries in the framework of working meeting “National Youth Capitals in Eastern Europe”.<\/p>\nThe working meeting was held on 7 – 11th of November in the Romanian city of Baia Mare. The event brought together participants from Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria and Serbia. During the event, participants simulated competition for the status of the Global Youth Capital. Metropolian cities, which competed: San Francisco, Brisbane, Cape Town and Belfast. The competition covered in-depth analysis of the current situation in cities, development of three projects, creating of a map of youth infrastructure and general presentation of the city. Such model of group work allowed for a holistic analysis and assessment of the problems of large cities and helped to form criterias for the evaluation of “youth capitals”.<\/p>\n
Romania holds the “Youth Capital” contest starting from from 2015. The main aim of the competition is the same as in Ukraine – the activization of cooperation between youth and local authorities and creation of comfortable conditions for the living and development of young people. The “Youth Capital” also stands for promotion of best practices in youth work, helps exchange experiences and involves young people to the all spheres of life of the city. In Romania, receiving the title of the Youth Capital involves holding a national youth forum, which becomes a platform for discussions and debates, exchanges of views on the formation of youth policy in the country, awarding the best young people in different nominations (sport, different types of art, youth projects etc.) and of course announcing of the next winner for the contest. The next Youth Capital of Romania will be city Iasi.<\/p>\n
